Honey's Gift

I actually finished it just in time. As I was putting the backing on the frame, I heard the sound of Honey's diesel coming down the court.

 Valentine's Day 7 - 2013

Canvases for a Valentine's Day shadow box for Honey.
These are little canvases from Joann. They are covered with
pages from an old book. Now to get them finished and
attached to the shadowbox by tomorrow. How does it
always come to this? I'm down to the last minute again.

Valentine's Day 6 - 2013

I made tags to tie on my Valentine's day gifts. I also made similar tags to tie to my repurposed window. The wings are made with Tim Holtz Layered Wings die cut using cardboard. The paper is from My Mind's Eye...Love Me paper pad. The cute little frame came from the little bins at Michael's. The little "love" heart is also from M

Valentine's Day 4 - 2013

When I found this old window, it was in pretty bad shape. Honey helped me remove what glass was left. I painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk paint and we attached the chicken wire to the back. He also attached the hardware and now my little window looks like a door.

 Valentine's Day 3 - 2013

Wow, how the days go by. Seems like the are going so quickly. I intended on posting everyday for the first 14days of Febuary. However, life got in the way. I finally got around to baking and decided cupcakes were the thing to make.

Valentine's Day 1 - 2013
February 1, 2013
My husband/Honey made this for me out of wood from a pallet he found. There was one similar to it on the cover of the December issue of Country Living magazine. I told him I loved it and hinted that there was lots of wood left over from the pallet he used to make a coffee table. Many weeks went by and the wood sat in a lonely pile on the floor of the garage his woodshop. I really wanted him to make something fabulous out of the pallet wood, so I left the magazine in his shop. Still, the wood went untouched. I left the magazine on his pile of rc plane magazines. Surely he would see the picture and be inspired to make it for me. I made his favorite dinners. No cabinet. I began to think it was not going to happen. No cabinet for me. I tried one more time to leave the magazine where he would not be able to miss it.
Much to my surprise, I received a text message from Honey while I was at work. There it was! A picture of this beautiful cabinet just for me.
